Hydrogen Sulphide is characterised by a 'rotten egg' smell and exposure to high concentrations can damage health. Even after a short exposure it paralyses the olfactory nerves, so that one does not smell it. Therefore, regular testing is important.
This wide-range Hydrogen Sulphide water quality test gives reliable results in 10 seconds without the need for any laboratory equipment. Simply dip the test strip in the water sample for one second, shake off the excess and compare your results to the color chart provided.

When hydrogen sulphide is detected at low concentrations, then it doesn't necessarily pose a risk to health . It gives water the 'rotten egg' smell and, as it is corrosive, it may tarnish copper and silverware, and cause black stains on laundry and porcelain even at concentrations as low as 1.0ppm. Higher concentrations may be more harmful to health.
Sulfur-reducing bacteria can live in oxygen-deficient areas, like deep wells, plumbing systems, water softeners or water heaters. High concentrations of hydrogen sulphide are rare, and they don't usually happen in household drinking water (tap water). Water softeners provide a convenient environment for these bacteria to grow and they can foul the resin bed of an ion exchange water softener.

How to Use:
- Dip one strip into a fresh water sample for 1 second.

Guaranteed delivery can be arranged by advance agreement. This agreement is back to back with the courier and we will not be liable for any delays as per our terms.
A loss/replacement can only be pursued in line with the target delivery times of the courier or once the courier accept loss.
Bulky items (and pallet deliveries) are dispatched within 2-15 working days. We will request a contact number if this has not been provided at checkout.

Missed deliveries where attempted delivery has been made usually result in re-deliveries the following day. The customer is responsible for organising re deliveries by contacting the courier direct.
Parcels/deliveries can only be "left out" if the delivering company allows that option. Parcelforce, for example, do not allow a parcel to be "left out".
