Grey Water Treatment
Grey water Treatment and Recycling
The waste water which leaves a property can be sub divided into:
Grey water - from sinks, showers, baths, washing machines or dishwashers. As grey water contains fewer pathogens than domestic wastewater, it is generally safer to handle and easier to treat.
Wastewater proper - black water -soil water - this contains faecal matter and pathogens and requires treatment.
Hydraloop collects, cleans, and re-uses the water from showers, baths, washing machines, hand basins, and air conditioning units. Hydraloop water is clean, clear, safe, and disinfected. It can be re-used for toilet flushing, washing machines, garden irrigation, and topping up swimming pools.
In terms of pactical greywater considerations the following should be noted particulalry on larger sites for example hotels:
- Do the shower and bath wastes run common eventually or do they enter the soil stack at each level
- Can they be brought common into the plant room?
- Is there a plant room available to house greywater recyling equipment -is the size known
- Is the annual total water usage known?
