The floating intake allows rainwater to be collected just below the surface of the water. This prevents any floating debris to enter the pump suction hose.
Debris tends to either fall to the bottom of the tank or float on the surface. A floating intake allows the rainwater to be drawn from middle portion of the available water. Since the intake is floating its distance below the surface is always fixed at approximately 100mm below the surface.
Standard hose intakes tend to fall to the bottom of the tank where much of the settled debris lies.
The option to add pressure rated hose is available from the drop down list above. Please note this is high quality pressure rated hose not to be confused with cheaper pond hose which will collapse under suction.
